ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY

A two-part series of analog photography addresses the inherent intolerance provoked by the female nude body in Brazilian culture. The first part focuses on the discomfort of the nude body on a personal level—the acceptance of one’s own form and shape, repeatedly under scrutiny and objectification. The second part shifts the focus to the unrest the female nude body causes on society though experimental photograms where the article in the penal code that prohibits nudity in public in Brazil is deconstructed and juxtaposed with the nude photography, rendering images charged with irony.

UNREST.PNG / This project is a two part compilation of a series of analog photography that were developed around the theme of intolerance and unrest that weighs heavily on the female nude body in the context of Brazilian culture. The first part of the project focuses on the own discomfort of the nude body on a personal level — the acceptance of one’s own form and shape, repeatedly under scrutiny and objectification. The second part shifts the focus to the unrest the female nude body causes on society. In these photograms, the article in the penal code that prohibits nudity in public in Brazil is deconstructed, playing with layers of sections of the nude photography and fragments of the obscene law, producing experimental images charged with irony.
